Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi… began its journey as a tribute to the late Ghazal Maestro Jagjit Singh by singer, songwriter and composer Shekhar Ravjiani, who had the honour of being mentored by him. The show first premiered at the Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore and brought back to life some of the legendary Ghazals of Jagjit Singh including, "Hothon Se Cholo Tum", "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi...", "Tumko Dekha", "Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar", "Tum Itna Jo" and "Yeh Daulat Bhi Le Lo". This show in Jakarta, Indonesia is a part of the World Tour in 2017.

About the Artists:
Shekhar Ravjiani is a name very well known in the Indian music Industry. An award winning music composer and singer, Shekhar's albums and songs have swayed millions of hearts. His singles, a project he enjoys immensely has touched many lives, from Saazni, Saavli to his accomplishment the Hanuman Chalisa in 2014 and more recently the Gayatri Mantra. His education of music was under Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan and he was also mentored by Shri Jagjit Singh.
As a music composer, Shekhar has created highly successful soundtracks for over 65 films with his partner Vishal Dadlani over the past 15 years including "Student Of The Year", "Bang Bang", "Chennai Express", the mega-hit "Sultan" and more recently "Befikre".
As a singer, he has sung a number of popular tracks that have won him the love and adulation of fans all over the world. These include "Radha", "Meherbaan" and "Gehra Ishq" from Neerja. Shekhar has also been a much loved personality on television as a reality show judge for Sa Re Ga Ma and Indian Idol and was a judge and mentor on "The Voice" and "Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani", very highly rated shows on television.
Deepak Pandit is counted among the best and most sought after violinists in the country. He worked with Jagjit Singh for 23 years and arranged more than 70 albums for him. Today he has collaborated and performed with some great names in the music industry - singers like Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal, and composed music for several films, including The Namesake, I am Kalam, The Great Indian Butterfly and Dhoop.
About the Legend Himself:
Jagjit Singh is considered to be the most popular ghazal singer and composer of all times. With a career spanning over five decades and a repertoire comprising 80 albums the range and breadth of his work has been regarded as genre-defining. Popularly known as "The Ghazal King" he gained acclaim together with his wife, Chitra Singh as the first ever successful husband-wife duo act in the history of recorded Indian music. His music became popular in mass media through films such as Prem Geet (1981), Arth and Saath Saath (1982), and TV serials Mirza Ghalib (1988) and Kahkashan (1991). Jagjit Singh passed away in 2011 leaving behind behind a rich legacy of music that lives on.
